Paul Cumings
Head Coach
Email
Some of you know Coach Paul better as Mr. Cumings (or Mr.
Coupon) from Oak Hill Elementary School, where he’s a fourth
grade teacher. He is very excited about having the opportunity to
lead our summer league swim team for the ninth year. He swims today for fun and exercise,
but started swimming a long time ago when he was just a tadpole of
about six or seven years old in Annapolis, Maryland. He continued
swimming summer league all through his high school years as a
Spartan in Houston. After high school graduation, he began his
professional career as a swim coach. He started as an assistant
coach on the team he’d swum with forever, Nottingham Forest
Swim Team. He then became head coach for two years on other teams.
Needless to say, he’s thrilled about this team’s
potential and the future challenges we set and overcome. The
sky’s the limit for the Travis Country Sharks.
In Coach Paul’s words: Try hard and
swim hard.

Suzanne
Bellsnyder has been with the Sharks for two years and returns as
our assistant head coach in 2010. Suzanne, her husband, Luke,
and daughter, Ally, moved to Travis Country in the fall of 2007.
She started swimming competitively at the age of 10 as a member of
her community summer league swim team in the small Texas panhandle
town of Spearman. Suzanne’s team competed as a member
of the Western Kansas Swim League, and she spent every Saturday
each summer driving to Kansas so the Texas team could take the meet
gold. During her last two years with the Spearman club, Suzanne
coached her former teammates -- brothers and sisters included --
until she left for Austin to attend the University of Texas.
Now, she runs a fundraising and political consulting firm in
Austin. Suzanne’s excited about the 2010 season, and is
looking forward to continuing the team’s winning
tradition!

Jillian Curran has lived in Travis Country most of her
life and was a member of the TC Sharks from age seven to 18. She is
a former recipient of the Super Shark and Most Dedicated Swimmer
Awards, was a junior coach, and this will be her third year as an
assistant coach. She graduated from Austin High in 2008 and
now attends Southwestern University where she is studying
International Relations/Spanish and is a member of the Southwestern
Women's Soccer team. Jillian is very excited about caoching
the young residents of Travis Country. Some of her favorite
memories are of her summers spent at the pool with her friends and
fellow swimmers. Go Sharks!

This is
Spencer Robertson's third year as a coach for the Sharks. He is
currently a Business Management major at Louisiana State
University, as well as a member of the LSU Tiger Marching Band.
Spencer started swimming competitively at the age of 8 when he was
living in Atlanta, GA. The summer before his freshman year of high
school his family moved to the wonderful city of Austin where
Spencer attended Westlake High School. Spencer is super excited for
another year coaching the Sharks. GEAUX SHARKS!

Andrew Willard
Assistant Coach

Andrew
Willard graduated from Austin High School in June of 2008. He
attends St. Edward’s University majoring in English
Literature with a minor in Photography. Andrew has been swimming
since he was six years old. He joined the Blue Tide swim team in
Americus, Georgia, under the leadership of Coach Tim DeMott and
swam every summer until his family moved to Austin in 2004 and he
joined the Travis Country Sharks. For the last four summers, Andrew
has lifeguarded at both Blue Valley and Hilltop pools. He has also
taught private swim lessons to children ages 3-7. Andrew enjoys the
fast-paced competition of swim meets and the availability of the
snack bar!

Carlee Brignole
Assistant Coach
Email
Carlee is excited about coaching
her fellow TC residents on the swim team for the first time this
year. Her first swim team experience was with the Dimple Dell swim
team in Sandy, Utah. After her family moved to Austin while she was
in middle school, she began swimming with the Sharks and continued
through high school. It was a great way to meet new friends in the
neighborhood and to deal with the Texas heat! Her experience with
swim team helped pave the way to a job as a lifeguard and swim
instructor. Currently, she enjoys being on the aquatics staff at
Lifetime Fitness, where she guards and teaches group and private
swim lessons to all ages. She is taking classes at ACC and plans to
enter a nursing program in the future. Carlee enjoys the thrill of
competition and looks forward to seeing the Sharks improve each
week through hard work.
