Eligibility
Swimmers
must be residents of the Travis Country neighborhood in Southwest
Austin and must have some experience in the water. Swim Team is not
a substitution for swim lessons, and the size of the team precludes
coaches from being able to spend a lot of time helping individual
swimmers learn very basic skills. Swimmers MUST BE FIVE YEARS OLD
as of MAY 1 of the current season. Swimmers over 18 as of
May 1 are ineligible.
Returning Swimmer
Registration
Online Registration for
returning swimmers begins April 1, 2010. All previous swim team
members will be sent a new password to the website. If you have
trouble registering online or you can’t pay with a credit
card, please attend our Live Registration on April 11, 2010 from
2:00-4:00 p.m. at the Blue Valley Pavilion. [Don't forget to bring
your password if you need us to help you register].
Live
Registration
For those registering new swimmers, please attend
our live registration on April 11, 2010 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at Blue
Valley Pavilion. New swimmers will have to pass a proficiency test
in the water in order to be eligible for the team. This is new this
year due to safety concerns as well as the size of the team.
Swimmers will need to get across the pool using any stroke (i.e.
doggy paddle is okay) without assistance. We simply need to make
sure your child is comfortable in the water and has a baseline
skill level.
ALSO, we will have all sizes of
swimming suits on hand during live registration, so if you
don’t know your swimmers’ sizes, please attend for a
fitting. There is also a sizing chart online once you click through
the Team Store at the top of the Sharks website. Our suit is a
TYR--THE FINALS brand, so just scroll down to that brand to see the
sizing.
FINAL REGISTRATION DAY AND FITTING
The last day for registration
will be Sunday, April 18 from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. at Blue Valley. This
day is for anyone who was unable to attend the weekend before, who
needs to have the eligibility test, or who needs to be fitted for a
suit.

Registration/Dues
Registration for the 2010 Swim Season is $105 for the
first swimmer and $95 for additional swimmers in the same
family. Your registration fee covers league and insurance
costs, coaches’ salaries, equipment, cleaning and other meet
supplies, swimmers’ t-shirts, stroke clinics if needed, the
end-of-season party, and more.
Refund Policy
If a swimmer decides to withdraw from swim team
prior to the Fun Meet (May 16), $50 will be refunded. There are no
refunds for withdrawal after the Fun Meet.
